PUTRAJAYA (July 29): Rising demand for skilled workers generated 343,836 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) job opportunities on the MYFutureJobs platform from January to June 30 this year

Human Re that technical and vocational skills are increasingly gaining recognition in the job market, in line with industry needs amid ongoing technological transformation and digitalisation of the economy

He said TVET-related job opportunities advertised lecting the high industry demand for skilled workers

“In fact, for certain fields, the salary offered is higher depending on experience, job location and the competency certifications held by graduates

“This shows that upskilling and professional certification can open doors to more competitive earnings,” he said in a statement on Wednesday

Ramanan said the career prospects for TVET graduates are now brighter, driven by increasing demand for skilled workers across sectors such as engineering, maintenance, electrical and electronics, information and communications technology, construction, automotive, semiconductors and machine operations

“The diversity of these sectors proves that TVET graduates have broad career prospects across various high-impact industries that drive the country’s economic growth,” he said

He said this development also reflects the high level of industry confidence in the capabilities of local skilled workers to meet the evolving demands of the job market

Ramanan said that to ensure more TVET students gain access to quality career opportunities, his ministry will continue to expand the reach of MYFutureJobs services through various career programmes at training institutions, polytechnics, universities, and campuses of the Manpower Department

MYFutureJobs, a programme managed by the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso), helps students identify jobs that match their skills, qualifications, interests and location

Students can access salary range information, understand employer requirements, and participate in career programmes and open interviews
