Chevening Opens 2026 Applications for Fully Funded UK Master’s – MSME A

Applications are now open for the 2026 Chevening Scholarships, offering eligible applicants the opportunity to pursue fully funded master’s degrees at universities across the United Kingdom

The application window opened on August 4 and will close on October 6, 2026, according to a statement from the UK High Commission in Abuja

The scholarship programme is targeted at individuals with leadership potential who are committed to creating positive change in their communities and contributing to solutions to global challenges

Successful scholars will receive access to UK education, professional networks and experiences designed to strengthen their leadership, skills and connections

Head of the Scholarships Unit at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Emma Hennessey, said the programme is seeking exceptional individuals who can work with the UK towards building a more resilient, prosperous and sustainable future

She encouraged prospective applicants, particularly those from under-represented groups, to consider how their experiences, achievements and ambitions align with Chevening’s goal of developing future global leaders

British Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Jonny Baxter, said the scholarship offers more than an opportunity to study in the UK, describing it as a pathway into a global network of leaders committed to driving positive change

He encouraged Nigerians with a clear vision for creating impact in areas of shared interest between Nigeria and the UK to apply

Prospective applicants have been advised to review the eligibility requirements and application reapplications

Since its launch in 1983, the programme has supported more than 60,000 professionals, contributing to the development of leaders across different sectors globally

Application deadline: October 6, 2026
