Netherlands to study European preclearance to ease travel between Aruba and Europe

THE HAGUE — The Dutch government will examine Aruba’s proposal for a European form of airport preclearance that could eventually allow passengers traveling to Europe to complete certain border procedures before leaving Aruba
State Secretary for Kingdom Relations Eric van der Burg agreed to study the idea after VVD MP Renate den Hollander urged the government to follow up on Aruba’s request
Aruba already operates U.S. preclearance, allowing U.S.-bound passengers to complete American immigration and customs formalities before departure. Aruba now wants to determine whether a comparable system could be developed for European travel
