Two Lincoln County educators awarded scholarships to help pursue master’s degrees

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Two local educators are among three recipients of this year’s Nebraska Rural Radio Foundation Scholarship, designed to support non-traditional <a href="https://jiuniversity.com/acorn-student-housing-i-reit-net-profit-rises-to-sh285-2mn/” title=”Acorn student housing I-REIT net profit rises to Sh285.2mn”>students pursuing higher education

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation awarded the scholarship to Katy Denny and Emily Kammerer, both of Lincoln County, alongside Kiley Conder of Hall County. The scholarship, created in honor of Max and Eric Brown, supports individuals 25 and older who are committed to the future of Nebraska agriculture and rural communities

Denny is pursuing a master’s degree as she prepares to become a K-12 school counselor at Wallace Public Schools

Kammerer, an agriculture education teacher and FFA advisor at Hershey High School, is working toward her first master’s degree

“The purpose of the scholarship is to give nontraditional students a financial break and to give them tangible encouragement to continue their education,” retired Nebraska Rural Radio Association General Manager Eric Brown said

Since 2017, the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation has awarded more than $52,000 in Rural Radio Foundation scholarships
