PU reviews Fall-2026 admissions

LAHORE: (Thursday, August 13, 2026): A meeting of the Deans of Faculties and Heads of Teaching Departments of the University of the Punjab was held at Al-Raazi Hall, in hybrid mode to review the admission and enrolment position for Fall 2026. The meeting focused on the current admission and enrolment position of various departments and academic programmes, particularly those having low enrolment or an insufficient number of applicants against the sanctioned merit seats. The participants deliberated upon possible measures to improve enrolment and attract eligible students to programmes with lower admission numbers. Speaking on the occasion, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mahmood Saleem stressed that the University must ensure a smooth, transparent and hassle-free admission process for students. He directed the Deans and Heads of Departments to extend maximum possible facilitation and guidance to students and their parents visiting the University for admission. He said that all possible measures would be taken to remove unnecessary difficulties and ensure that students are properly guided and facilitated throughout the admission process. The Deans and HODs shared the latest admission statistics of their respective faculties, departments and academic programmes and discussed the admission position in detail. The meeting also emphasized the need for coordinated efforts by academic and administrative units to facilitate applicants and improve overall enrolment.
