BEU graduate awarded prestigious Chevening scholarship

Ilgar Hashimov, a bachelor’s graduate in World Economy from the Baku Engineering University (BEU), has been awarded the prestigious Chevening Scholarship of the UK Government
Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, the BEU graduate will pursue a master’s degree in Financial Economics at the University of Warwick, one of the United Kingdom’s leading higher education institutions. The total value of the scholarship exceeds £51,920 (approximately AZN 120,000), covering tuition fees, a monthly stipend, travel expenses, and other related costs
It should be noted that more than 109,000 candidates from countries around the world applied for the Chevening Scholarship Program this year. According to the results of the selection process, only 700 applicants were awarded the scholarship. Of these, only three candidates from Azerbaijan were selected for this prestigious program
Having held various positions in finance and reporting at KPMG Azerbaijan, PASHA Bank, and Azerbaijan Railways CJSC, Ilgar Hashimov currently serves as Head of the Reporting Department at AzerGold CJSC
It should be noted that Chevening is one of the UK Government’s most prestigious global scholarship programs. The program enables outstanding young professionals distinguished by their academic achievements, professional experience, and leadership potential to pursue master’s studies at the world’s leading universities
