Students in eight of our Northeast Florida counties head back to school on Monday

Clay and Bradford counties head back to school on Tuesday, and Union County students will be back in class on Wednesday

All but one of our Southeast Georgia counties started school last week

We know the first day of school always seems to come with a lotof questions about transportation

If you have any questions or issues with your child’s bus, we have the numbers for each district’s transportation department and bus hotline listed below, along with info for districts that have school bus tracker apps

Each year, 860 buses transport approximately 48,000 students on more than 3,600 daily trips to Duval County Public Schools

The bus companies that contract with DCPS are Durham School Services and Student Transportation of America (STA)

Families can contact the bus companies for general questions such as the location of a bus or estimated time of arrival at a bus stop. You can find the contact info for each bus company, organized by which area of town the bus route serves, at www.duvalschools.org/page/busvendor

The DCPS Transportation Department is open from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. After-hours emergency calls are available from 6 a.m.-7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m

Also, you can now monitor your child’s bus in real time through the Edulog bus app. Additionally, families will be notified through the app if their child’s bus is delayed

In May 2025, the St. Johns County School District introduced BusPlanner, a new online transportation portal designed to give parents easy access to their students’ bus information

Parents can access BusPlanner through its web portal at https://sjcsd.mybusplanner.com or by downloading the companion mobile app, Chipmunk, available for Android and Apple devices

BusPlanner will provide timely updates about bus delays and other important transportation-related notifications. In addition, parents can use the system to send messages directly to the SJCSD Transportation Department

To get started, families should create an account on the BusPlanner website or on the Chipmunk app using the same email address associated with their Home Access Center (HAC) account. SJCSD encourages all families with bus riders to register early and stay informed. View instructions showing how to create your BusPlanner / Chipmunk account

Please note: Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, all student pick-up and drop-off times and locations will be provided exclusively through BusPlanner and will no longer be available on Home Access Center (HAC). View instructions showing how to access your student’s bus schedule

If you need to reach the district’s Transportation Department, you can call 904-547-7810. Keep in mind that responses will not be available during dispatch hours: 6-9 a.m. and 1:45-4:15 p.m.; Wed: 12:45-3:15 p.m. Please call your child’s school if you have a non-emergency question during dispatch times

Beginning with the 2025–2026 school year, the Clay County District Schools Transportation Department will implement a new opt-in registration process and a bus tracking program to enhance the safety, visibility, and efficiency of the district’s transportation services

Please also be aware that students who live within 2 miles of their zoned school are not eligible for bus transportation unless a district-approved hazard has been identified. Florida Statutes and Rules: 6A-3, 1006.23, and 1011.68

If you believe your child qualifies for a hazard exemption, please complete the necessary form at sdcc.mybusplanner.com

The Nassau County Schools Transportation Department employs over 120 drivers, aides, mechanics, and administrative staff and provides daily transportation to and from school for over 6,200 students, including more than 160 students with special needs

The parent tracking app for school buses is transitioning from Here Comes the Bus to StopFinder during the 2026-27 school year. StopFinder is a more secure <a href="https://jiuniversity.com/uk-visa-application-withdrawals-surpass-refusals-in-q1-2026/” title=”UK: Visa application withdrawals surpass refusals in Q1 2026″>application that works very similarly to HCTB

You must have a working email in FOCUS on your primary account to use StopFinder. An email will be sent to that address with sign up instructions

HCTB will continue to work while the district transitions to the new program to give you time to verify and/or update the primary email you have in FOCUS. Please call your child’s school to update your email

Please check your bus stop times frequently as school starts, as there are many changes daily

If there is no bus stop information on your FOCUS account transportation page or in the HCTB app, then the district does not have you registered as a bus rider. Submit a bus stop request

You will need your child’s student ID# and the district’s school code, 76491, to sign up for the StopFinder app

Flagler Schools provides transportation to over 6,000 students in Flagler County with buses traveling over 7,200 miles daily on 64 bus routes serving nine district schools

If you have any questions about student transportation, please contact the Transportation Call Center at 386-586-2145. Call Center hours are 6 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday–Friday

Here Comes the Bus is a website and app that enables families to view the real-time location of their student’s school bus on a computer or mobile device. In addition, email alerts and push notifications help students arrive at the bus stop at just the right time

Families can sign up for an account on the Here Comes the Bus website or download the app from the App Store or Google Play

Families must submit a request for transportation if they want their child to ride a school bus for the 2026-27 school year. Families may fill out online transportation registration form or pick up a paper copy at schools

Stops are based on the student’s primary address. Pick up and drop off must be from the same location

Families will receive a message when their student’s bus is going to be more than 15 minutes late. Please ensure your school has current contact information so that you will receive these messages

Parents can request transportation for students if their route meets the definition of ‘hazardous walking conditions’ as specified in state law

You can contact the Alachua County School District transportation department by filling out the Help Form on their website

If your bus is running more than 10 minutes behind schedule, please call your student-assigned school first. The transportation department normally makes calls to the schools when buses are running late, or, if you prefer, you can also give the Transportation Department a call at 352-955-7602

The Transportation Department of Brantley County Schools is charged with transporting over 3,000 students, safely and efficiently, every day. These buses cover 48 routes, twice daily, driving over 3,200 miles each day

For late bus information, please call 912-462-5159

Each day, the department experiences extremely high call volume between the hours of 7:30-8:30 a.m. and from 2:15-5 p.m. During these hours, it is extremely difficult to get through to the Transportation Department. If you can’t get through, please keep trying!

Each day, Camden County’s school bus fleet travels approximately 4,000 miles

Many school bus questions can be answered at the schools. Each school has access to internet-based bus assignment information for each student

Camden County Schools is implementing new routes for the first time in over a decade as student populations shift and school enrollment zones evolve. These changes aim to minimize student ride times, reduce behavioral incidents during transport, and improve overall on-time arrival performance

Families should check My Ride K-12 beginning July 23 to view updated bus stop locations, pick-up/drop-off times, and routes

The Transportation Department may be contacted at 912-729-8374 if there are questions that the schools are unable to answer

Concerns about student discipline should be referred to the school principal

Parents can also track their student’s bus in real time, get notifications and send messages directly to the district about any delays through the My Ride K-12 app
